Interim approval for donated state park land passed
Lawmakers gave final approval May 14 to a measure that changes the approval process for an indication of intent to incorporate land into the Nebraska state park system.

Under current law, the full Legislature must give approval for the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission to provide an indication of intent to incorporate land or facilities owned by a local governmental subdivision or agency into the state park system.
Under LB364, sponsored by Grand Island Sen. Dan Quick, the Executive Board may provide approval when the Legislature is not in session.
The bill passed on a 46-3 vote.
